A GoCanvas alternative for inspection data

For contractors and field teams who run inspections on GoCanvas mobile forms and want structured condition data instead of PDF reports. GoCanvas gives you a drag-and-drop form; Inspectial turns the photos and voice from each roof, site or culvert into coded findings a qualified reviewer approves.

Inspectial is pre-launch: we are onboarding pilot teams, starting with culvert and drainage inspections.

The short answer

GoCanvas is a mature mobile forms platform with a drag-and-drop builder, offline use, PDF reports and 1,000+ integrations, priced per user with a three-user minimum. Inspectial is pre-launch and built only for inspections: AI drafts coded findings from photos and voice, a reviewer approves each, and the data exports with coordinates for GIS. Pick GoCanvas for many form types today; pick Inspectial when coding inspections is the work.

Why inspection teams switch

  • The AI does the coding

On a roof, the inspector photographs each slope and says what they see. Inspectial drafts the defect, component and severity for each finding instead of the inspector filling form fields.

  • Data, not just a PDF

Approved findings are structured records with coordinates. They export as GeoJSON or CSV and feed your GIS or asset system; the report is rendered from the same data.

  • Every value has a source

Each finding links to the photos it came from and records whether it was AI-drafted, edited or verified, and by whom.

  • Price per asset, not per user

Adding a reviewer or a seasonal crew doesn't add seats. You pay per inspected asset, with a platform minimum.

When GoCanvas is the better choice

  • You need a production-ready forms platform today; Inspectial is pre-launch.
  • Your team runs many form types across field service, maintenance and compliance, not one repeatable inspection.
  • You want to build and change forms yourself with a drag-and-drop editor now.
  • You rely on many off-the-shelf integrations, SSO or PDF reports out of the box.

How to switch

  1. Export your submissionsDownload past inspection submissions and photos from GoCanvas with your asset or job IDs. They can be imported as past inspections, with the earlier grade kept as the baseline.
  2. Set up the templateWe configure a pack template with you: sections, required photos, defect list and condition scale.
  3. Import your assetsLoad the asset or site list by CSV with coordinates, keyed to your own IDs.
  4. Pilot a batchInspect a small set in both tools and compare the records, the review time and the map output.

Questions

Does GoCanvas have AI?

GoCanvas's homepage and pricing page listed no AI features when we checked on October 12, 2026. Check GoCanvas's current pages, since vendors add features often.

How is Inspectial priced compared with GoCanvas?

GoCanvas lists $29, $39 and $49 per user per month, billed annually, with a three-user minimum. Inspectial is priced per inspected asset with a platform minimum, not per seat. Pilot pricing is on request.

Can I build my own forms in Inspectial?

Not yet. We set up each pack template with you, with the industry's condition scale and defect list built in. A self-serve template editor is on the roadmap.

Does Inspectial produce PDF reports?

Today it renders an HTML report you can print, built from approved findings only. Server-rendered PDF, Excel, Shapefile and GeoPackage exports are planned.

Who approves the findings?

A qualified person on your team. The AI drafts and suggests; the reviewer verifies, edits or rejects each finding before the inspection is approved.

See what an Inspectial record looks like

Photos, voice notes and GPS become a structured, map-ready inspection record. Every finding links to its photo, and nothing is official until a person approves it.
